The character of Thai sounds
In the standard Thai language. There are five tones. The middle one or the "neutral" tone carry no mark, the low tone, the falling tone, the high tone and the rising tone.
Thai is a tonal language based on 5 tones. This means one word can have 5 different meanings depending on the tone spoken to deliver the word. This can initially seem a little difficult to master but with practise with your teacher and some careful listening this can.
